TNPC Pulpit Committee Retreat
Contributed by Michael BolingThe TNPC Pulpit Search Committee began 2010 with a time of prayer and thanksgiving while enjoying a relaxing day/work retreat at Richard and Nancy Day's house.
After a brief break imposed by the Christmas celebrations, the Committee wanted to open the new year with an eye toward the upcoming season of interviews. With respect to the retreat, and to the progress of the committee, the following things should be noted:
- Time at the retreat was spent on refining the vision for the future, and on discussions of interview methods and questions.
- At the retreat, we had a special devotional time of prayer expressing (1) adoration for the God that we serve; (2) confession both corporately and individually; (3) thanksgiving for what God is doing and has already done for TNPC; and (4) supplication on behalf of our committee, and TNPC as a whole.
- We have developed the ability to have multi-user conferences when the interview process opens.
- New candidates were reviewed.
- We want church members to continue to pray that God is preparing the heart of the man who will become our next pastor. Additionally, please pray that our committee will be resourceful, discerning, and patient.
