Facilities Update
By John DishmanTNPC’s facilities committee is always (1) working to maintain and improve our buildings, and (2) to satisfy all of the buildings’ users, which include not just TNPC members but other groups as well. September was no exception.
Volunteers did much for the TNPC physical plant in the last month. They installed new light switch and power outlet covers in the sanctuary in order to replace broken ones. A volunteer replaced a switch and performed other repairs in order to make an air conditioning compressor function properly.
Additionally, the Facilities committee installed a clock on the back wall of the sanctuary, and re-programmed thermostats in order to better serve various afternoon/evening programs including the Boy Scouts, Session meetings, WIC, and men’s leadership studies.
The committee has many plans in the works. The most important of these is the all-church workday scheduled for Saturday, November 14. Everyone is encouraged to participate. Among other “works in progress” are the following:
- Selection of a service project for the Boy Scout troop which meets at TNPC
- Continuation of the tile project on the second floor CE landing
- Completion of a new sprinkler system valve/zone location map
- Creation of an inventory of parts and supplies in the Deacons’ tool room
Other projects are planned for the future. Much effort will continue to put into making this house of God into – and keeping it as – a top-quality group of buildings.
